A Belated International Women's Day and Anniversary

Hello. Yes, I realize that I skipped February posting but February was not a good month emotionally for me. Yesterday was international women's day and the anniversary of me starting this blog and yet I forgot to post here💀so let's get to it.

My women OCs! Some of them you may recognize if you've been checking out my blog since... uh... 2014? and you might recognize that this doesn't accurately represent just how many female OCs I have because I have been spending over a decade creating quite a few OCs. And I'm still creating OCs. I think I accidentally projected my mental state on the first doodle by making her look so vulnerable.

It has been nearly a whole year since I experienced lockdown and two years since I've had an income (I know I quit my job but not like I wasn't looking for a replacement) so it's been affecting me negatively and I desperately need a change. I feel like my whole life needs to be rewritten because the current one hasn't been working for me. Don't know where this was going but I obviously need to talk with somebody and my parents are not very sympathetic with my feelings so I don't even bother telling them anymore.

Well, I might make an announcement soon (I've been saying something about an announcement for a long time) so let's see when I return with more doodles. Till then, toodles.

Ch-ch-ch-CHANGES (I can't even name a Spotify playlist, don't expect any cool titles here)

Hello! No point in mentioning anything about it being a new year when January is nearly done but yes, I am still alive and I thought I'd throw some crumbs at you as proof.

I had been meaning to draw this character with their redesign and so here he is. This is one of my many OCs, Haru Morgan. He used to have dirty blond hair but as time has passed and I have changed stuff around, I decided it was best to give him brown hair (it’s simpler to color) and even changed how I draw his bangs. It was nice working on this cuz I’ve been working on something since November that I thought I would have done by now but depression has me drawing so slooooowwly so just take this. And this:

"I killed Chin the Conqueror." I read The Rise of Kyoshi this week and loved it, so here's some unfinished fanart. I've loved Kyoshi since hearing about her in atla and then when she showed up. She's just *awesome* and I haven't heard anybody hating on her, which is good cuz 2020 brought up some necessary hate on characters that don't deserve it. So, happy weekend, don't go doing anything that would cause a giant woman to show up at your door with a full face of makeup to beat you up (that includes NOT WEARING YOUR MASK! there's still a pandemic) and till next doodle (or if I feel comfortable making any announcements... I feel like that'll happen in February), toodles!

How my OCs would handle QUARANTINE

      Hello. Here's another belated sketchdump:

I think you know where my inspiration came from. The last bullet for each character happens to be a quote from said character. Well, hope you find some enjoyment during this weekend and till next doodle, toodles.

Cold-blooded Lady Killer? (Meh)

Hello! I finished another seasonal chibi for this winter so here he is:

Back to my scheduled programming of drawing my bad guy OCs from fall 2019 to summer 2020. This dude is Cory. He has no last name at this present time because it's complicated. He's a bastard. I actually introduced him when I was doing Inktober 2018 but I don't remember everything I said then. I got him done faster than I expected. I think it took me three hours spread out over three days. Don't know if I'll do another one for this season or just stop here and wait till spring...

I wish I had more doodles done this week but I kinda got myself into a tiny book club my friend started and we were supposed to read Emma this month... I picked up the wrong Emma. Turns out both Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte wrote novels titled Emma. I both finished Charlotte Bronte's Emma and started Jane Austen's Emma yesterday so there hasn't been much time for me to do a lot of doodling. Also, I got back into playing the sims because I decided on Tuesday that I needed a break after all the drawing I did on those bookmarks (which are still not finished but I didn't want to take forever on them either so I released only a plain version for the time being.) I have other doodles I want to finish working on and more in my brain so let's see... Till next doodle, toodles. Oh, and enjoy your weekend.

A Cozy Couple and Summer Chibi Isoke

Hello. I started a post last week for the doodle below but I was hoping to be able to post a new video to YouTube so I delayed posting it till now:

Hey, more OCs. It was hard to do this seasonal chibis redraw only because my laptop made it. I like how it came out this year, I actually drew Mike and Sandra in the same style as the other seasonal chibis which was honestly my biggest goal for this. If you haven't noticed, I'm keeping Sandra in berets, they're just her. This means that I can move onto the other seasonal chibi I have planned for this winter, which is good. Then I have to figure out what to do with myself again. Hoo boy. And I edited a new speedpaint for my seasonal chibis. Yay. (I do realize I am posting a drawing of a couple on Valentine's Day but the drawing was done way before so ignore that fact.)

Hey, if you could please check out my Redbubble and Society6 shops, that would be great. I'd like to keep being able to pay for my car insurance and the gas I spend instead of getting it out of my baby sister who is the only one working now. Lucky. I got an interview but then they didn't hire me. Oh well, it was a drive away from home and the store opens at 6 in the morning so it wasn't ideal. Well, hope you're enjoying your weekends and till next doodle, toodles.

Authorized personnel only

Hello! I was hoping to have a doodle or drawing done for today but I didn't think that I'd be posting what I started today and not any of the stuff I started on Monday or Tuesday but eh, c'est la vie.

A chibi OC comic where I used Western comic style format. It got really cold here today in sunny Florida and I had to commemorate it with drawing a bundled up character. With my whole being obsessed with Voltron recently, I originally wanted to draw Lance (or Lana) being all bundled up and hating the cold and Keith being unfazed but then I remembered my OCs, some of them that would not be as affected by a sudden temp drop (Mike hailing from Chicago, Aidan being a literal body-warmer) so I rolled with this concept of certain characters not staying in their proper places and Mike, the oldest of my main OCs, being all "close the door, you're letting the cold air in." He's just a tired millennial that struggles at adulting and nobody is helping his case here. For the record, in my house we blame Elsa for all sudden chills since 2014 so it was only natural to add Hans in. And I am so inconsistent when it comes to how I draw chibis that there are three styles all within this comic. I do like this idea though, it was a fun draw, and I like how I drew a couple of characters looking like absolute babies. I mean just look at the little guy taking advantage of Aidan's unnaturally warm body. A baby. Just look at that tiny Keith in the last panel. A baby. So hey, I managed to draw some OC content within the first month of 2020. Reminds me that I gotta do a winter chibi drawing (two actually, because I will redraw Mike and Sandra's, I wasn't happy with last year's) but I have a bunch of speedpaints I gotta roll out so I can make room on my hard drive for more recordings for more speedpaints. I wasn't finished with my Voltron chibis either so ehehehe, I have my work cut out for me. At least I started the editing process for one video so I should finish it this week so I can move along with my YouTube, even if I won't really be able to make money off of it because of the whole child-friendly issue. Well, will I come back on Friday? We'll see. Till next doodle, toodles.

First Post of 2020

Hello. It's been a week of 2020 and I've been spending it reading Little Women (which has made me want to knit again), doodling, and being obsessed with my fem!Lance AU but let's remember how I started my blog posting doodles of my OCs.

The file name may be OC chibis 2019 but I finished it today so um, I have to work on that. I've been quite distracted (thanks to that fem!Lance AU I mentioned). Well these are all my main OCs plus a chibi version of me. I am a little disappointed in myself for having to use reference for some of these it's been so long since I've drawn these babes of mine. I actually made myself a reminder to draw them more often this year so here's hoping for more OC content. Till next doodle, toodles.

Inktober 2019 5: Talkin' 'bout BAD BAD people

Hello. As I write this, there's one day left of October/Inktober, I still have to do today's drawing, Pat Benatar is singing her heart out on my laptop, and I have like an hour and a half before my internet times out 😠 Anyways, I've got six more drawings for you and they're all bad guys (duh... nevermind) so let's take a look at the line-up:

None of them have killed anybody's brother but I would make them sing Backstreet Boys' I Want It That Way anyway. So first I drew Lord Yorick Braxton, a conniving but charming young man with ambitions bigger than his current seat of power. Then after him is Shiori Matsumoto, a journalist for a Japanese newspaper and a coworker of Mike and Sandra (though her work ethic is quite lacking). She is not a villain, just an antagonist who's only motive is she and I don't have the same OTP. Middle dude is Kanteor (last name is being held hostage by the Sims 4 cuz I didn't think to write it down), and he happens to be an Amtuppa. He is Queen Ramahari's brother in-law thanks to being married to her twin sister Princess Maharari. Maharari is faithful to him, not common in their species, while he's sleeping with her sister. Sicko. Then Ramahari is desperately trying to make herself an heir to secure her throne and he's going behind her back trying to make a kid for himself in order to usurp her. Yeah, he's a bastard and he will be getting what's coming to him. Full body tailed dude is Rimmu, son of powerful Entenō chieftain Ecktoh and heir apparent of the Blue Tribe. The notches on his loincloth indicate this. As a species, the Entenō like humans to the point that they will protect them from their enemy the Amtuppa (see image just above him). Except Rimmu is upset over the one time his dad loved a human woman more than recommended. It would be wise to not anger this 6'8" tall gray skinned alien considering he's packing claws and sharp canines. Ok, so then we have this dude that looks he's been through hell? First off, I must apologize because he is supposed to be burned but I have never drawn burns before putting him down on paper three days ago on the 27th. He has no name now but if he did, uttering it would trigger one of my favorite characters. So the bleedin' bastard married Aidan O'Neill's mom shortly after his dad died when Aidan was only five. He had a bad habit of drinking himself drunk and smacking everybody around, didn't take kindly to his wife and stepson's attitudes (they're both fiery spirited people that aren't scared to tell you off bluntly) so he treated them like punching bags and gave Aidan a few scars on his back from his belt. One night, eleven year old Aidan decided he'd had enough. When his mom was about to get beat up again by her jerk husband, he flung himself at the would-be attacker's back and grabbed his face with STEAMING HOT HANDS. Aidan beat the man in a fuming rage not realizing he was also burning alive while doing so until his mom stopped him. He was hospitalized and treated for his wounds until one day he just checked himself and never came back. Aidan's mom remarried AGAIN but to a much nicer man this time. Doesn't mean this fella won't strike again for revenge. Good thing Aidan has friends. Speaking of friends, last one here could probably use one because why else would this alien child feel the need to antagonize K.I.T.T.Y.? What started out as male somehow became they/them as I drew them on Monday so I guess masculine agender/non-binary it is. No name or identifiable species for now, is probably a telekinetic, that's all I can say about this brat for now.

I finished typing this out on my phone because I remembered I can do that but I had to hurry myself through today's drawing. It's on my Instagram and Tumblr right now. I'll probably post the last three days (yesterday, today, tomorrow) on Friday. Can't wait to call it a month but this has been fun. I hope I'll do a little more drawing and updating this blog during the rest of 2019 but until next doodle, toodles.

Inktober 2019 1: You mean there's more to Bittersweet than Mike and Sandra?

Hello. I wasn't sure if I was really gonna do Inktober this year but if you read the title, then you know that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm doing kinda like last year where I dropped the prompts and focused on my OCs but this year I'm drawing them in the manga style they originated in and not in my stylized realism as portraits so let's go:

Day one I started with a QUEEN (and someone's grandma) I like to call Ari O'Hara. She is a strong Jewish woman who don't need no man, something she picked up thanks to having been born in Denmark prior to 1940 and surviving the Nazi occupation. Ari escaped thanks to the Danish resistance and landed far away from her homeland. She has managed to thrive despite going through so many hardships but now happens to be a bit protective of her only son. Day two was a young Eoghan Byrnes about 21 years old before his left eyebrow scar and broken nose but that's what happens when you join the military, right? His family managed to escape Ireland during the potato famine and found themselves in a place where they would never have to worry about the poverty or political troubles in their homeland anymore. The Byrnes still carried the concept of joining the armed forces for the benefits up until Eoghan's generation. He joined and made a career of it, became known as Chancin' Byrnes... but there were negative events in his personal life and he found himself the only member of his family. He still has his job and his daggers, in case you were wondering. By day three I was getting tired of drawing full body poses and fantastical time-periody clothing so I took a break by drawing Mike's parents, the OG Morgans. First I drew his mom Wendy circa her college days. Don't ask me what she studied because as soon as she came across her future husband, she decided to take it easy and he was the sole breadwinner in their marriage, even if it was the 70's. Wendy suffered so many miscarriages that she refers to Mike, her only child, as her "miracle baby Michael". Would she have preferred that he stayed close to home in Chicago? Absolutely, but she wants him to live his life too. And then there's Richard Morgan, Mike's dad and Wendy's husband. He was a popular guy in high school and college... Popular with the girls at least, not knowing the meaning of the words "loyalty" and "chastity" until he met Wendy (we hope). His ancestors would have been supremely disappointed in him but at least he turned out to be a good dad. This is during his college days so he don't look like that no more. After him is Ethan O'Hara. Oh, you heard the name before? Yeah, his mom is Ari. He grew up sheltered thanks to his mother's protective measures and he wants very much to live up to his family's reputation and expectations but also to be his own person. That last part doesn't always come so easily, especially when his decisions complicate everything. And last but not least is Helena. She has an identical twin named Juliana and they come from a very mixed background of French, Japanese, possible Chinese... Doing a DNA test on them would really be something. She and Ethan become a power couple and mix up their genes again for the next generation. Isn't that something?

I'm currently on day eleven in my Inktober so I think Monday I will be posting another batch for you to enjoy. I would have done this on Wednesday but I hit my internet limit on the home WiFi when I started the draft so here it is today, which is fine, at least I'm remembering to update. So anyway, I hope you enjoy your weekend and till next doodle, toodles!

10 Bittersweet Years

Hello. I know I disappeared again but this time it was because of something serious, but first, doodle:

I drew Sandra! I actually started sketching her in a new sketchbook (that one of my former co-workers gifted me) in late June at a baby shower but finished her July 3rd because this month this OC of mine turns 10. To think that reading collections of 60's era Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Supergirl comics ten summers ago would inspire me to create a new character that would last this long considering how prone I am to obsessive phases and that I've actually created lots of characters over the years that just never had a continuous existence in my imagination like she and her story (both of which have gone through changes over the years) have. I'm actually working on her story as of lately, I'm just slow going.

The sad thing is, I finished and posted this drawing on my Instagram and Tumblr while my grandpa was in the hospital. He ended up dying on the seventh. He was the only grandpa I had ever had really (long story) so losing him so fast and so sudden has pretty much wrecked this month for my whole family. Out of the three of us most involved with him in his last days, I have actually been handling it the best oddly enough but I have my moments. I haven't been doing much in the way of doodling though, it's mostly been shutting out the rest of the world by playing sims. I also have a couple other doodles and I sketched a draw this in your style by Pernille Ørum today that will hopefully get some coloring soon so I can post it on Instagram. I quite like the skecth, I hope I don't screw it up with the colored pencils. Well, hope to see you soon.

Protect Our Planet (with your fists)

Hello. I've been working on something and remembered to throw some content on here:
Remember to punch recycle! I just drew this today because it was less complicated than redrawing an old piece that I ended up posting on Earth Day so many years ago (it's been five years... I feel so old). It wasn't in chibi form originally but I was working in my usual manga style before deciding it would be easier and faster if I drew them as chibis. Oh yeah, these are some of my Bittersweet OCs: Saru, Sora, Sandra, and Mike. Mike is very aware that he sticks out like a sore thumb. Don't ask me why I thought t-shirts was the way to go but I thought it was genius and rolled with it. I also thought of an alternate version that has nothing to do with my OCs (surprising? I think not) but I am making an effort to focus on my OCs. I've been neglecting them yet again. The something I've been working on (still working on it) is also OC related so look out for that. I probably could have had it done much sooner if I didn't get caught up with New Girl. After years of wanting to watch it (and then forgetting its existence because we haven't watched our local Fox channel in the longest), I have finally discovered the gold that is New Girl. I've only seen season one but I am most certainly in love. Expect it to creep into future content later on. Well, I hope to be finishing my other project soon but till then, toodles.

Cozy Cuddles

Same week, different month. Oh well. I am coming back with one doodle even though I have a whole bunch of ideas and sketches (and another doodle that was already posted on Instagram and Tumblr a good while ago) because these are my babies:

Yep, I redrew them too. I probably picked the wrong time to romanticize winter considering the huge polar vortex and Mike being a Chicago native but um, I have this whole seasonal chibis theme going and I'd like to keep it going. For some reason, this redraw looks pretty different from the last one in that my 2017 redraw (2 years... oof) has thinner lines and the chibi style is different. Oh, and I changed Sandra's hat to a beret, but that was on purpose. This was delayed mainly by my job, me getting distracted and also technical difficulties, a.k.a. I broke the wire to my sister's Parblo tablet and had to scramble to find a replacement. Problem is, that wire is so specifically built for the tablet that it's hard to find a proper replacement (since Parblo doesn't sell it) but I figured out a solution: shove the charging cable that came with my phone into the slot, since phone manufacturers actually make their cables rubbery instead of the hard plastic of the cables you buy when you've lost or broken the phone cable. In other news, my day was actually a wreck but I'm happy because it was take your child to work day and so I got to work with children, it was so fun. Hope you guys have a good weekend, and Elsa, leave the midwest alone. Geez. Anyway, toodles.

Inky OCtober 8: Baddies

Hello, I return with the last bit of Inktober content so buckle and be careful, you don't wanna mess with these guys.

Quick bios for these guys because I keep not wanting to write it out and putting it off: Dude with the ponytail prefers to go by Cory but was born Adolf (and out of wedlock so I haven't figured out what his last name is). The man he thought was his father left early on; as a pubescent boy he fell in love with a girl who rejected him; he found who his real father is (and that the girl he was in love with was actually his half sister); he he decided to try and claim his supposed birthright and attempted raping said girl. Oh, and his mother was found dead mysteriously. He disappeared after all of this, naturally... The lady underneath goes by Chernobyl. She believes herself to be the reincarnation of Anastasia Romanova and is bent on recreating the Russian empire. Why she wants to start in New York, I don't know why. She's obviously delusional... Underneath her are her lackeys, Lettice Richards and Puissant (Hercule). Lettice is British, green haired, and loves being a prick. Hercule/Puissant is French and it is either a grave mistake on my part or genius that I haven't given him a personality... Ah, and last but not least, we have Queen Ramahari, the evil queen of a race of aliens that just see humans as living breeding chambers. She may have attempted - maybe even succeeded in - making someone carry her baby. She is a very seductive woman and uses that to her advantage. Can you believe she has an identical twin sister that is nothing like her? Alright, I've done it. Now I am rid of inktober. Wreck-it Ralph comes out this week and as much as I don't wanna go see it in theaters now (thanks Venom. Thanks Tom Hardy. You are my newest and weirdest obsession), I do like the casual outfits the princesses got so maybe I'll finally make fanart of that. I haven't done any yet because 1. I am not fast and 2. Work is killer. I am doing better now because of my obsession with Venom but it is so hard for me to relax in just a couple of hours before bed. Like no, I need four day weekends because people are so stressful and my room needs cleaning but I am never motivated to do it lately. My fan got dusted last night only because I disturbed it while dealing with my sheets, so yeah. So hopefully I will reappear either on Wednesday or Friday/Saturday. Till then, toodles.

Inky OCtober 6: Bittersweet and Super Teens Sides... Just as good as the main course

Oops, my venom obsession is showing in this title 😆I have so many side characters but I had thirty one days to draw and I wanted to draw my main characters, some side characters and finish the month off with villains so I had to cut out a lot of side characters from this. I technically drew seven side characters plus a character for a possible spin-off which was enough as it is, imagine that I started listing a good eight side characters from one storyline. Yeah, I had to let go of some people. Maybe next inktober? Ok, so here's half of my inktober sides right here:

I started the side characters same way I started the main characters: with Bittersweet. Sora and Saru are Sandra's cousins. Sora is actually Sandra's biological cousin and looks like she could be her sister, so yes, the resemblance was intended here. She's a quiet, observing girl and does her best to keep her adopted sister Saru in check because she doesn't like getting in trouble. Saru, on the other hand, is a troublemaker and trouble just kinda follows her. Sadly the picture I have here of her sucks. I should take a new one. She is my one and only freckled redheaded character, which is rather funny that we associate redheads with freckles but then I go and do this. (P.S. Aidan has freckles, they're just not on his face 😉) The next two characters were kinda hard to think of because um, Super Teens focuses so much on the actual teens but their parents are technically the side characters so I was like "well I'll draw Aidan's mom because she is important to the story in a way". I'm still between naming her Bridget or Eileen, btw, but I do want her maiden name to be Kelly. But my slot for day 23 was empty because I just couldn't think of anyone else to draw... so I drew Aidan's dad Rory O'Neill to make it a package deal. So, Aidan looks like his dad but he did inherit his mom's nose and chin. Pretty much everyone considered Aidan to be his father's son because he is practically the spitting image of his dad but what everyone failed to realize is he has his mom's personality and temperament. Aidan just happens to be a nice combination of his parents, 'k? Creating parents from a character you created is like a dissection because as much as my main boys look like their dads, they have to get something from their mother, you know? They also can't look exactly the same as their dad so I tweak the details to make them different enough. Rory has brown eyes and the straight nose Aidan was supposed to have but somewhere along the way, I changed Aidan to green eyed with an anime nose. To balance it out, Aidan's mom is a brunette (could have been blonde once as a child) with blue eyes. I just like to make my fake families seem as real as possible in an unreal world so I don't look too much like Disney. I actually take real life genetics into account here. Sadly, I have to go to work today and close the store 😩 Thank God I have the weekend, I'll try and wrap up my inktober posts and then I can show you the venom stuff I have come up with because it really has become my new obsession.

Inky OCtober 1: Bittersweet Mains

Hello. I should have posted this a lot sooner but last week was busy and hectic and I actually got days off of work this week, hence why I'm posting now. So my third inktober in a row I decided to change things up and, besides being more professional and using a sketchbook bought specifically for inktober and micron pens, I ditched the prompts and cartoon style and am focusing instead on my OCs and stylized realism style. Naturally, I had to start this with the OCs that have stuck with me for the longest continuous length of time:

Mike and Sandra! Actually I started with Sandra because it all started with Sandra. Mike was made as a consequence to creating Sandra. So my sketchbook has only 25 pages and October has 31 days... therefore I calculated how many pages I had to have two characters sharing a page... after starting with Mike and Sandra sharing a page. But their stories are interconnected and merge so it makes sense. Anyway, I am sketching out my characters first then inking (it's easier for me) and I knew I was going to have a long day at work with little chance to draw during the day on the 1st so I sketched out Sandra the day before (Sep. 30) since I had the day off and we had a beach outing on that day so it was just a great time for me to squeeze in a sketch. And squeeze in a sketch I did. Yes, I started my inktober ahead of time. It's called planning. I actually have planned out most of the characters I am drawing this month (I say most because I have a day that I still have no clue who I'll draw then and this is actually day nine of inktober) and I am starting the month with main characters, which Mike and Sandra are. I may have drawn Mike a bit too big for the space I gave him on the page because if you'll notice, a chunk of his head is missing and he doesn't seem to mind. For the most part, I think these drawings are coming out ok, I am proud that I am interpreting these characters in a more realistic manner and inking them. I keep making mistakes, though, which I keep covering up with my white gel pen. But otherwise, they're good drawings considering that I went through art block recently. I'd still be going through it if it weren't that I am pushing myself to do this challenge because I like it and do want to draw because I enjoy drawing and need something to distract my brain from all the bad in the world. I am going to get another post started up so that you can see who I drew for days three to six tomorrow hopefully. See you then.

Sorry I haven't posted in a month...

Hello. This post's title is doing the apologizing for me because my depression has kicked in again and my job is keeping me busier than I would have liked. Besides that, being a cashier in a grocery store is quite demanding on a shy introvert like me. It's worse when a customer decides to give you a hard time or you have to go lunch or home and you're stuck at the register longer than you wanted to be. The only good thing about yesterday at work was they started handing out candy to whoever got a $5 donation for Tools for Back to School from a customer in the afternoon and I got six. I brought home five because I gave one to a coworker who was staying later than I was. When I got hired, I didn't know how long I was going to be there, my goal was to stay as long as possible until circumstances changed. I have accomplished a lot with this job, but this summer I realized I still didn't have a life and not enough time to do the things I love to satisfaction and uncomfortable situations at work have added to my current dislike of my job. Enough of the venty explanation, I have been trying to keep up with my doodling so here's some OC stuff I've posted in this month:

A sketch of Sandra I made in my OC sketchbook to figure out what she'd wear to work (she's not a cashier, she's a secretary for a newspaper editor), two of an evil alien queen who you'll hopefully meet eventually, and one of a newcomer because I have a fertile mind that can't stop making characters. She's a punk and maybe I'll develop her enough to give a proper introduction. I have more doodles to share but I'll do that later. Till then.

Merry Monday

Hello! I painted over the weekend!

So a week ago, I bought this watercolor pad from Crayola at Target and I decided to start practicing watercolor. I started with my OCs Mike and Sandra. On Friday I bought two micron pens and I used them on this drawing. I was so scared I was going to screw up while inking this drawing but it turned out pretty good. I did make mistakes while inking but they're minor ones spread throughout. And then I cracked out my watercolor pencils and ta-daa! The only color here that wasn't a watercolor pencil is the skin tone, that's just a regular colored pencil I had already. The paper did buckle a bit while I was doing the background but I was using an old and probably cheap brush and it decided while I was working on the background color to misbehave with me. Whatever, this is my first time watercoloring since... early 2000's, and I didn't do much watercoloring then either, so I think this was pretty good for a first attempt. I should come back later this week (probably next month) with at least one more doodle so here's seeing ya.

Inktober 2017 #2

Hello! It's Friday and last night I finished another Inktober index card so here it is:

I had to think for this theme because it was almost Frozen but too many of the prompts remind me of Frozen (how dare I be so obsessed) so I didn't want to torture you and myself and leave out some of the themes I came up with for this year so after a good long time thinking (interrupted by life, of course), the theme for this card happens to be my manga OCs. Yay, OC love. Oh, they're not manga you say? So last year's inktober was done completely in my cartoon style and throwing in chibis into the mix early on in the month was going to be weird, so as much as I almost drew chibis and thought of it, I asked my sister if I should draw them in manga or cartoon and she said cartoon. Made plenty of sense so cartoon versions of my characters it is. After deciding on theme and style, a couple of these prompts became easier to plan out. The first drawing has a story to it: my Super Teens (Tamiko, Aidan, Ariana, and Wilhelm) went on a trip and the first three lost their luggage, you know, the timeless tale of your luggage not coming back to you on that airport conveyor belt. That has never happened to me because I've only ever traveled on land by bus or car and ferry, it's expensive for a family of five constantly paying something to fly. Anyway, Wilhelm is just a big sweetheart and lent out his clothes to his friends so they could sleep dressed (and probably buy some stuff for them in the morning)... no one fills out his clothes the way that Wilhelm does, though. That made me think of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. Second was easy: baby Midori with Mike at an exhibit looking at a katana, as they live in Japan and Midori grows up to have swordsmanship as a hobby. Third one was a hard one because it occurred to me that I don't really have shy OCs (which is weird because I'm a shy introvert with possible social anxiety, but I remembered that Mike became shy as a child because he'd get picked on so he developed something of an inferiority complex... so he's blushing really hard as he talks his crush, who looks familiar. Fourth one took me a long time because I took a nap in the afternoon yesterday, I had to finally figure out Asian man eyes for cartoon Ryo, and what was I going to draw in that crooked painting? Obviously I figured that out and it is a crack painting that I said on Instagram and Tumblr if anyone could tell what the subject was, I would give them a larger copy of it... Eventually. I do want to draw a larger version of it but it would probably be best if I made it a digital painting to ensure quality and make it the way I think suits it best. Does anyone reading here dare to take a guess?

I started another inktober card today so that should get posted Friday and I should have news about if I get hired. Ttfn.

Forever (Alone... at least I am) Friday

Hello. It's been a week since I was last here, but I've been doodling (and simming) since then and can now present my doodles. The first one I'm putting here is a redraw of my winter chibi doodle of Mike and Sandra so here it is:

The original was done more in my Powerpuff chibi style but I decided since my restyling of my manga style (and my forgetting to draw some chibis for last spring) that I should redo this. So here they are, looking more like typical chibis but with their eyes channeling the Powerpuff Girls more this time. I was in a hurry and it just hit that there are no lines in Sandra's hair making her hair look like it was cut out of felt. Oh well. Now you can see that Mike's drinking hot chocolate. Funny thing is I live in Florida. There is no winter. Winter is literally the few cold days we get from cold fronts. Speaking of cold fronts, anybody remember that polar vortex winter of 2013/14? I hadn't watched Frozen yet and I was blaming Elsa for it. In fact, it's a thing that when something freezes (like our crummy air conditioner), we blame Elsa. Can't you tell we're a bunch of nerds? 😄 I have another doodle, this one on paper, that I did earlier this week as a bit of character styling:

Yes, another couple. Unlike Mike and Sandra who are obviously soulmates and are more recent, this couple looked like this back in the mid/late 70's. Yeah, they're old now. They're actually my rendition of a certain character's parents, this character not actually being my original creation. Not sure if anybody can guess who and what kind of person the girl is, but I hope you'll see more of them, old or young. So look out for them. Btw, they're not related to the tag at all. That is a secret (for now). My dad is being sworn in as a citizen today and he has plans to take us to the fair today for the first ever. I know, I have a sad existence. I've never been to Disney either but let's see if that'll happen. Pretty sure you guys know who'd I'd fangirl over. Hope you have a good weekend.
